Learn through Reading
There is no age limit to getting your baby's first book. I have my first baby book (this little fishy) when I was 2 months old. I struggled with my little fingers to flip the books but I love it. It helps improve my motor skills. See below for my favourite books. Mummy placed them in magazine holders next to my Big Boy Bed (I also have a baby cot, which I sleep at night) so I can choose which book to read. Do come back often for new addition to my books collection!
Mummy also borrow books from the NLB for my reading pleasure. See below for titles that I have read so far.
Learn through Playgroup and physical activities
I am an active little boy. So mummy tried to keep me occupied with activities that I like. I first tried tub swimming when I was 4 months old at Punggol Plaza. Then I went to Tumbletots, and saw exciting blocks, bridge and tunnels that I have no idea what to do. I was just learning to crawl and always fall flat on tummy. At my first trial lesson, the instructor taught me the correct posture and technique to crawl. I memorised and started to practice at home. I started crawling backwards soon after. I've also learned to climb buttock first from higher ground so I don't fall flat on my face. If you are keen to try out, you can signup for a trial lesson.
Learn using Flash Cards
Babies are genius, that what most people say. We have photographic memories. Then they invented flashcards to stimulate our brains. They believe that early and constant exposure made us more intelligent.
Learn using Toys
Play time is very important to my physical and emotional development. I love to play and have fun. Some toys I like, some I don't even lift an eye on. And by the way, mummy said I have expensive taste, whatever that means.
Learn through Music
Music is stimulating to a baby's mind and has a calming effect. So sing to your colicky baby.
